Planetes as the most recent example. I didn't really want to watch the episodes
in the beginning, but after a couple of eps I begin to really enjoy that anime a
lot. Its great Sci-Fi stuff.
Also, Crest of the Stars and Gundam SEED got me hooked, I didnt know anything
about those shows before I watched them, but now they're 2 of my faves.
Big disappointments, well Onegai Twins and .hack//DUSK. Avenger was a big
disappointment too since it was from studio Bee Train and had music from Kajiura
Yuki IIRC, but the series was really bad..
I enjoyed the first episode and the story seems quite interesting so far. Of
course the fanservice is a nice addition, as well as the comedy and well
animated action sequences. I thought this series would become more like
Mahoromatic (not really interesting characters and story but lots of fanservice
and comedy), but judging from the first episode it's going to be more
interesting.
BTW, was anyone else reminded of Arjuna when he watched the first ep? The first
ep shares a few similarities with the first eps of Arjuna IMO...
about FMP...I like them both, but probably fumoffu a bit better because I LMAO
when i watched it, and FMP1 wasn't something special, but still
entertaining.
"something more beautiful" is about as good as mahoromatic 1, if it
wasnt for that ending, imo.
If you think of it as a sequel I'd say .hack//dusk is a pretty bad one, compared
to //SIGN. Also, I think the Bebop movie was pretty good (if you count it as a
sequel). Onegai Twins was pretty bad as well after 3 episodes.
I liked Gatekeepers 21 more than the original one, too (although its
gonzo)..
I'm looking forward to the RahXephon sequel tv series bones is producing..
Anyway I play FFXI and I got to say I'm a wee bit addicted to it hehe.
I play on Bismarck and have leveled the following classes:
36 Samurai
33 Warrior
20 Monk
+ Saikano ED
+ RahXephon ED (in the later eps)
+ RahXephon Movie ED
+ Seikai No Senki 2 ED (although the singer is quite bad)
+ Victory Gundam 2nd ED - Mou Ichido Tenderness (its rather oldschool poprock
but the anime is very sad, so I associate sad feelings with that song)
+ Cowboy Bebop Final Ending - Blue
Subtitles here. The japanese VAs sound much better even if you dont understand a
word, imo. They dont spend much money on anime dubs, most of the time, so the
quality of the actors is pretty bad most of the time...
Quote by LeonryushinBecause elements
are a strong factor in any anime which incorporates
magic.
Maybe you should've asked "Whats your favourite magical element?"
then, since I replied with the element I like outside anime..and some others did
that as well, judging from the answers the gave.
Quote by DJ-of-Ethat's not a
battle royale cosplay, that look more like what you would dress for a job
interview.
well yeah I did say it was bad, because you won't recognize it unless youre told
what it's supposed to be. I didnt want to mess with artificial blood or buy a
toy gun/knife, oh well..
Personally I wouldnt wear beige trousers to a job interview though.
As for me, the shows today dont have the same appeal to me as the first shows i
watched, I think you build up some kind of tollerance or your
"standards" increase. Still, I really enjoy a good number of the
recent shows, and I think that will last.
Thats also strengthened by the "scene" I got into in the past
year(s).
As for general: Anime surely got more popular all around the world, but I don't
know if it has already reached its peak. The non-yugioh fandom is increasing per
day (at least here in germany), and some TV stations begin to pick up _good_
shows, finally (like Noir and Arjuna) and they show them at quite decent time
slots. I guess there's still a good possibility that the number of fans can
increase here.
I dunno about Japan, but the number of anime shows per season has been
increasing in the last years, and _almost_ every decent new series gets licensed
outside of japan, so I guess there is still a good possibility for a growth
there.
first console: Nintendo Entertainment System (thats the PAL term, i think its
called Famicon in the US or something)
first game: Mario World, which came with the console^^
so true...
these are the iron laws of the "No Ma'am" organization from Al Bundy, right? He is god.

Hiyono from Spiral, not especially hot, but cute..
tonfas that can shoot, lol :P
my purpose is to do what I like and keep doing it..so to live is my purpose of life

They did some great series (Last Exile, FMP), but they also screw up a lot of shows that could've been much better IMO (Hellsing, Kiddy Grade, PMK).
FMP wasn't really special either (story and concept), but very enjoyable anyway...
Bones are my favourite with Madhouse 2nd. Bee Train and Gonzo share 3rd place. Ghibli is just incomparable though
i have been looking forward to this since the end of 2003...
the seiyuus of mahoromatic and konomini are basically the same too, cant wait to see the first ep subbed.
I wish the fansubbers would be faster, they only just translated half of the episodes (10) which aired :/
Leonryushin, youre so off topic...

I agree with the faces thing, they all look very similar hehe.

Water is first with wind a close second.
CAPTAIN PLANET!
(why is this thread in the Anime Lounge anyway?)
lol I second that!

I heard she died in a car accident last year? O_o
